Well I had a great time in North Texas during the first 2 weeks in August. I visited relatives out there and we had a grand old time. Nothing beats diving a 20 year old V6 pickup truck down a dusty track. Texas is totally different from the UK, everything is bigger and the heat was for me incredible. I find it hard to describe the heat. I took my sketch book but didn't seem to have much time to sketch , but I did take hundreds of photographs. So plenty of things to go at there.
